(CA) [The i.p. administration of calcium Na2 EDTA (0.2 mmole/kg) or 2,3-dimercaptopropanol (0.2 mmole/kg) to rats increased the intestinal absorption of labeled Pb. Na citrate, D-penicillamine, Ca Na2 EDTA, and 2,3-dimercaptoethanol administered orally also increased Pb absorption by the bowel. The amt. of Pb retained in the body was increased by all chelating agents tested except Ca Na2 EDTA.]
