Vozar L. Relation between peroral application of complexon 3 (ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid disodium salt) and the activity of alkaline phosphatase of blood serum. Biologia. 1960; 15:208-211. Z Inn Med. 1959; 14:676. (CA54:25290h) [In rat expts. it was found that peroral application of Complexon 3 (I) (40 or 80 mg./100 g. body wt./day) increased the activity of alk. phosphatase of blood serum at the latest in 48-72 hrs. After 20 days of I application the alk. phosphatase activity of rats receiving I at the 40-mg. level was 7.04 ± 0.94 King-Armstrong units, while in rats receiving I at the 80-mg. level it amounted to 18.75 ± 1.07 units. In control rats, the enzymic activity was 8.37 ± 0.54 units. The data seem to support the previous findings of V. that I causes deposition of Ca and P in bones (Biologia 13, 695, 1958).
